Aya Tajimi began classical ballet training when she was four in Tokyo, Japan. She studied and trained in the Vaganova ballet method under Mrs. Hiroko Murakami (Ushioda) of the Tani Momoko Ballet Company in Tokyo, Japan. She also studied under Ms. Makiko (Ishii) Suzuki of the Tokyo City Ballet Company in Tokyo, Japan. She joined the NBA (Nihon Ballet Academy) Ballet Company in Saitama, Japan. She performed not only with the NBA Ballet Company but also with local ballet companies and studios, dancing many lead roles. She has experience teaching classical ballet to students ranging from three-year-olds to adults in Japan, and since May 2017, she has also taught children in Eastchester, NY. She has been a main ballet teacher at Scarsdale Ballet Studio since 2018.
She also currently studies Classical Ballet and Character Dance under Ms. Tatiana Kozlova, a graduate of the Bolshoi Ballet School and a former member of the Bolshoi Ballet Company.​
